"Desert Island Pan" is the stage name for Kevin Broome, West Texas' first (and only) steel pan performer. The name "Desert Island Pan" originated from the idea of bringing the sounds of Trinidad and Tobago, an island nation in the Caribbean Sea and the birthplace of the steel pan (steel drum), to the desert area of West Texas.
